As part of CTE month, we are highlighting CUHSD’s Career Technical Education (CTE) programs in newsletters and on social media using the hashtag #CTEMonth.
Throughout the month of February, CUHSD Digital Communication Interns have been gathering stories for Career Technical Education Month to highlight the District’s CTE programs.
One of the courses we are highlighting is the Careers in Education class at Boynton High School taught by teacher Erin Palmer. The Education Pathway is new to CUHSD and creates a pipeline for students to enter the education field and addresses the teacher shortages impacting schools across Santa Clara County. The course prepares students for jobs in education, including careers as teachers, substitutes, early childhood professionals, teaching assistants, counselors, speech pathologists, school psychologists, and recreational youth program staff. Not only do students learn how to develop practical and instructional strategies to use in the classroom, they learn life lessons like how to give and receive feedback and how to create a professional portfolio.
