CUHSD athletic programs had a successful winter sports season with several teams qualifying for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Central Coast Section (CCS) playoffs. Congratulations to the following teams on their achievements:
Branham High School
- Basketball: boys and girls teams qualified for CCS and advanced to quarterfinals
- Traditional competitive cheer: Won CCS championship and placed 9th at nationals
- Soccer: boys won Blossom Valley Athletic Team (BVAL) Mt. Hamilton Division, finished 2nd in CCS Open Division, and qualified for CIF NorCals
- Wrestling: Sarah Vela, Carlos Vela, and Nick Melendez placed 3rd in CCS and advanced to the state tournament
Del Mar High School
- Basketball: boys and girls qualified for CCS quarterfinals
Leigh High School
- Connor Smith named the BVAL Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
- Basketball: boys played semifinals of CCS and earned an at-large bid for NorCals
- Soccer: boys won CCS Championship and advanced to NorCals; girls qualified for CCS
- Traditional competitive cheer: varsity placed 4th and frosh 3rd at nationals
- Wrestling: 5 wrestlers qualified for CCS
Prospect High School
- Basketball: boys and girls qualified for CCS
- Soccer: boys and girls qualified for CCS; boys won Division 1 Championship and advanced to NorCals.
- Traditional competitive cheer: qualified for CCS and nationals
- Wrestling: 4 wrestlers qualified for CCS
Westmont High School
- Basketball: boys qualified for CCS and advanced to quarterfinals
- Soccer: girls qualified for CCS
- Traditional competitive cheer: 2nd place in CCS and 4th at nationals
- Wrestling: 7 wrestlers qualified for CCS
