The Campbell Union High School District’s Board of Trustees is currently elected under an “at-large” election system, where trustees are elected by voters of the entire District. On May 16, 2019, the Board adopted Resolution #56-05-16-19, declaring its intent to transition from at-large to by-trustee area Board elections, where each Board member must reside within the designated trustee area boundary, and is elected only by the voters in that trustee area.
On June 13, 2019, the demographer presented three (3) proposed trustee area maps to the Board and the Board held the first of two statutorily required public hearings to receive community input on the proposed trustee area maps, pursuant to Elections Code section 10010, subdivision (a)(2). In response to the discussion on June 13, 2019, the District published additional proposed trustee-area maps. On July 11, 2019, all of the demographer’s proposed trustee area maps will be presented to the Board. Following the presentation, the Board will hold the second of the two statutorily required public hearings required by Elections Code section 10010, subdivision (a)(2).
All of the proposed trustee area maps are posted on the Campbell Union High School District’s website (https://www.cuhsd.org) and available to view at the District Office.
The Public Hearing Will be Held on:
DATE: Thursday, July 11, 2019
TIME: 6:00 PM
LOCATION: District Office Board Room
The public is invited to participate and make comments regarding the content of the draft maps and the proposed sequence of the elections during the public hearing.
