Students in the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) capstone course completed their FlexFactor project by presenting their ideas to a group of industry professionals last month.
Students in Engineering Design and Development at Branham, Leigh, and Westmont participated in a five-week work-based learning program where industry professionals from Advanced Manufacturing corporation, NextFlex, virtually mentored student teams of 4-5 on their development of a product that would solve a global problem.
This opportunity allowed students to build on their leadership skills, while collaborating on designing a product that would solve current challenges. Selected groups will now have the opportunity to participate in the FlexFactor finals, competing against several district teams across the county on December 17.
Great job to the students who completed their projects and to the engineering teachers for maintaining this partnership and opportunity for students during distance learning!
