Campbell Union High School District Student Places 6th Nationally in Prestigious Competition

San Jose, CA,  – The Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) is proud to announce the outstanding achievement of one of its own students at the prestigious SkillsUSA National Competition held in Atlanta, GA, from June 24 to 28. This monumental event brought together over 6,500 talented individuals from across the nation to compete in 115 rigorous competitions, drawing an audience of more than 15,000 attendees.

Recent graduate of Del Mar High School and Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE), Alana Lin, traveled to Atlanta, along with peers from neighboring school districts, and showcased exceptional skills by earning an impressive sixth place in the Welding Sculpture category. Her exceptional work not only earned her a medal but also caught the attention of a school from South Carolina, which interviewed her about her sculpture during the competition.

"We are extremely proud of Alana's remarkable accomplishment at the SkillsUSA National Competition," said Dr. Bravo, CUHSD Superintendent. "Her success exemplifies the dedication and talent of our students, as well as the strength of our partnership with SVCTE in providing top-notch educational and career-focused opportunities."

SVCTE offers students from CUHSD and neighboring districts the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of technical and career-focused fields. The partnership between CUHSD and SVCTE allows students to enhance their education with practical skills and real-world experience, preparing them for successful careers in their chosen fields.
