Leigh High School Recognized as 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Department of Education

SAN JOSE,CA — Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) proudly announces that Leigh High School has been named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, one of only 13 high schools in California to receive this prestigious honor. The recognition, announced by U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, celebrates schools for excellence in academic performance or significant progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups.

 

Leigh High School earned this distinction as an Exemplary High Performing School, placing it among the top performers in California. This award acknowledges the dedication and collaboration of Leigh High’s students, educators, and community in upholding high academic standards and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

The National Blue Ribbon School designation is a symbol of Leigh High School's commitment to academic excellence and its role as a model of innovative teaching practices. Leigh High joins a distinguished group of 356 schools across the nation that serve as examples of how focused leadership, professional development, and data-driven instruction can create successful educational outcomes.

About the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program

Each year, up to 420 schools are nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award. Schools are selected based on student assessment results, performance across student subgroups, and graduation rates, with an emphasis on academic excellence and closing achievement gaps.
