Two Del Mar High School International Baccalaureate students were selected to be on Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's Student Advisory Board for the 2018-2019 school year.
Quynh Nguyen and Malia Yee will serve on the advisory board from November 2018 until June 2019 and will make recommendations on legislation being considered in Congress based on student polls.
"I wanted to apply to this position because I felt like I could promote civil discourse both on campus and in advisory positions alongside peers whose opinions may differ from mine," said Nguyen.
The student advisors will research topics such as alternative energy and human rights.
"Hopefully, I can help others create change in our community while finding out how my views and experiences can help in a civic setting," said Yee.
Congratulations to Quynh and Malia on this exciting opportunity!
