The CUHSD food services department has reached a milestone by regularly serving more than 2,000 meals a day. The number is up from 1,100 meals a day served two years ago. The increase can be attributed to new affordable and appealing meals that meet students' health and nutrition needs.
The new menu for school lunches includes healthy options such as sandwiches, salads and locally-grown fruit and vegetables.
This year the food services department also launched a new mobile menu app that offers an easy way to view menus and nutrition information from a smartphone.
This is just one step the District is making in an effort to continually improve the quality of the menus offered to students.
