Congratulations to Leigh High School’s Project Lead the Way “Team Epi-Patch” on receiving first place in the FlexFactor finals on December 11 for their idea on a microneedle patch that provides emergency allergy relief.
The FlexFactor program is a work-based learning opportunity where students work in teams to come up with a solution to a real-world problem. They then pitch the idea in a shark-tank style fashion to a group of experienced industry leaders.
CUHSD had four teams represented at the FlexFactor finals, two from Leigh High School and two from Branham and Westmont High Schools. Branham High School’s “Team Anaphora” received third place in the competition for their idea for a bracelet that detects repetitive speech to assist people suffering from dementia. Thank you to teachers Gina Bui-Lei, Barbara Schremp and Dan Coonce for your ongoing commitment to your students through the FlexFactor program.
