Credit Recovery Program & Summer School
CUHSD Credit Recovery Program
|
The Campbell Union High School District Credit Recovery Program aims to help students complete their graduation requirements through flexible learning options while maintaining high academic standards. Our primary focus is enabling students to graduate on time by recovering failed credits through personalized support and multiple pathways for completion. Our program offers several approaches to credit recovery. Students can participate in self-paced online courses with teacher support, which include flexible scheduling options after school and during summer sessions. Traditional credit recovery classes provide small-group instruction with specialized teachers. For students requiring more flexibility, independent study options offer individualized learning goals with one-on-one teacher mentoring.
Our Philosophy |
CUHSD Credit Recovery’s foundation rests on providing all students opportunities for success while upholding rigorous academic standards that accommodate diverse learning styles and student needs. Our emphasis on early intervention helps ensure positive student outcomes.
Student Groups |
The credit recovery program is designed to support students at different academic stages who need to complete or improve their coursework. Our target student population includes:
- Students who need to recover courses where they received an F in initial course attempt
- Students who are behind in credits and need specific courses to be on track for graduation
- Students who would like to retake courses to improve grades to meet A-G Eligibility requirements (Received a grade of D in the original course)
Assessment Methodology |
In accordance with CUHSD Board Policy and Administrative Regulation, assessment in credit recovery courses follows a structured approach. Students complete mandatory pre-assessments to establish baseline knowledge and identify specific learning gaps. Throughout the course, progress is monitored through unit tests, project-based assessments, and performance tasks. Post-assessments measure student growth and ensure mastery of content standards. Weekly progress monitoring and student-teacher conferences track advancement toward credit completion. Final grades and credit awards comply with district grading policies while accommodating flexible demonstration of competency.
